MID-HUDSON – One area town has filled a vacant town board seat while another is seeking applicants for another empty post.
The Town of East Fishkill has appointed Anil Beephan, Jr. to fill a board vacancy in the wake of Councilman Nicholas D’Alessandro winning the town supervisor’s race. Beephan will have to run this fall to fill out the remainder of the term.
In the Town of Mount Pleasant, a town board seat will become vacant as of June 1 when Councilman Mark Rubeo begins serving as interim judge. The town board is accepting resumes and will start the interview process as they are received in hopes to filling the position in the next few weeks. Candidates in Mount Pleasant will also have to run in the November election.
