MONTICELLO – A Monticello woman was charged Sunday with felony
assault for allegedly stabbing another woman in the head with a screwdriver
during what police said was a domestic dispute.

Joyce Housman, 27, was also charged with misdemeanor criminal possession
of a weapon.

Monticello Village Police were called to 62 Park Avenue at around 4:20
a.m. for a report of a disturbance and that is where they found the 25-year-old
female victim suffering from what police called a laceration to her head.

Housman was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

The victim was treated at the scene by Mobile Medic Ambulance and Monticello
Fire Department.
