Columbia County deputies seize over 150 grams of cocaine, arrest two

AUSTERLITZ – Two Pittsfield, Massachusetts residents were arrested Saturday evening on drug charges after their vehicle was stopped by Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies for a vehicle and traffic violation.
Officers smelled marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle. The driver, Jessica Fitzgerald, 26, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and found in possession of a straw that contained cocaine residue. A small amount of marijuana was also found in the car. She was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and having illegal side-window tint. Fitzgerald was also found in possession of five oxycodone mills without a prescription. She was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
Her passenger, Lindsey Cobbs, 25, was found in possession of approximately 153 grams of cocaine with a street value of about $15,000. He was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and was sent to the county jail without bail.
