BUCHANAN – Entergy’s
Indian Point 2 nuclear power plant was returned to service on Saturday
after its 23rd final refueling and maintenance outage.
The plant was shut down on March 19.
“Entergy continues to make the investments needed at Indian Point,
as demonstrated by the more than $75 million invested in the last month
on Unit 2 alone,” said Tony Vitale, the site vice president and
Entergy’s top official at Indian Point.
Indian Point Unit 2 is scheduled to be permanently shuttered by April
30, 2020; Unit 3 is set to shut down for good by April 30, 2021.
