POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie
City Police Department will not be filing criminal charges against city
Middle School Principal Da’Ron Wilson following an investigation
of incident involving a suspended student.
On April 3, the police were called to the school to investigate an incident which began when the student, who was suspended from school, was found inside walking in a hallway.
When Wilson attempted to stop him, the student resisted.
A complaint was filed with the police alleging excessive force used by the principal, but police said after a review of video footage from inside the school and interviews with students and staff present during the incident, no criminal charges will be lodged against Wilson.
