NEWBURGH – Saint Luke’s Cornwall Hospital has implemented a new visitor management system to assist in identifying and accounting for visitors’ time in the Newburgh building.
The electronic system requires visitors to present a valid, government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license, when entering the building. The ID will be scanned and information will be electronically transferred directly onto the visitor pass.
The system also allows for the opportunity of a secure message notification in case of an emergency.
“The safety of our patients, visitors and staff is the number one priority at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital,” said hospital President Joan Cusack-McGuirk. “This new program will enhance both our existing security measures and customer service.”
In recent months, the hospital has worked to significantly bolster its security features, including the addition of proxy readers at all entrances and the alteration of access to several areas of the building.
