HILLSDALE – A woman was killed when the car in which she was riding was struck by another car on Route 22 near Sawyer Road in the Town of Hillsdale. The crash resulting in the death of Donna Segschneider, 63, of Hillsdale occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Saturday.
Her husband, Gus Segschneider, 69, was northbound when a southbound car driven by a 75-year-old Great Barrington, MA woman, crossed into the northbound lane striking the other car, State Police said.
Gus Segschneider was transported to Albany Medical Center. Police did not say if the other driver was injured.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Austerlitz, Hillsdale and Greenport fire departments, Community Rescue and Life Net helicopter.
