Saddle up, partner as Pine Ridge reopens after facelift

KERHONKSON – After a $1 million infusion by new owners, the Pine
Ridge Dude Ranch has reopened.

The 150-acre resort on Cherrytown Road in Kerhonkson was closed last September;
its former owner, David O’Halloran, died in an accident one year
ago while in the Bahamas.

New owner Michael Offner and two unnamed investors renovated the property,
upgraded guest rooms and added 25 horses to the herd at the resort.

Bill Davey was one of the first to come to the newly updated resort. He
has been visiting the ranch since 1971 and called it his “home away
from home.”

Davey, who is 63, remembers he first came to Pine Ridge with cousins when
he was 16 “to ride horses and to run around like crazy kids.”

Danielle Reinisch was saddened to learn the ranch had closed last year
but is thrilled it is back open. The Columbus, New Jersey teen said she
liked the trail “because it’s not like walking around in the
parking lot. You’re in the woods.”
