Month-long Port Jervis line upgrades begin

PORT JERVIS – Work begins
on Monday to make significant improvements to the Port Jervis Line of
the Metro-North Railroad. They will continue through Friday, May 4.

Work will include rock slope remediation, inspecting and reinforcing rock
slopes adjacent to the tracks between Port Jervis and Ramsey Route 17.
Crews will also replace timbers at the Pond Brook Bridge, south of Sloatsburg,
and renew railroad ties.

As result of the work, buses will replace weekday off-peak trains between
Port Jervis and Suffern throughout the period and on the weekends of April
14-15 and April 28-29.
