Person struck and killed by Metro-North train

BEACON – A Metro-North commuter train heading to Poughkeepsie struck and killed a pedestrian on the tracks just south of the Beacon train station. The incident occurred at 12:24 p.m. on Thursday.
There were residual delays of up to 20 minutes following the incident.
There was no information available as to the age or sex of the individual or hometown.
The case remains under investigation by the MTA Police Department. It appears that no criminality was involved and it was not an accident authorities said.
