WASHINGTON – The US Department of Transportation granted $3.6 million to purchase new articulated vehicles and modernize the Bee-Line bus fleet. The funds will help replace outdated vehicles.
Bee-Line serves some 2.5 million rides in Westchester each month and transports over 30 million passengers annually.
Senator Charles Schumer said Bee-Line is “a lifeline” for county residents. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand said the new buses will “help strengthen our transportation infrastructure, making service more efficient for commuters while reducing air pollution.”
Over 65 percent of residents are within walking distance of a Bee-Line bus route.
