NEW CITY – This is a special weekend for both Christians and Jews and to protect all of those attending religious services, Clarkstown Police will be increasing marked patrol presence around houses of worship in the town.
Although no credible threats have been made to those locations, police said they are continuing to monitor state and federal intelligence agencies.
Drivers should be aware of an increase of worshipers walking to their houses of worship. Police advise they should use caution and slow down to avoid an accident.
Friday was both Good Friday for Christians and the first night of Passover for Jews. Sunday is Easter.
Police remind residents that if they see something, they should say something and call Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800 or call 911.
