NEW CITY – This is a special
weekend for both Christians and Jews and to protect all of those attending
religious services, Clarkstown Police will be increasing marked patrol
presence around houses of worship in the town.

Although no credible threats have been made to those locations, police
said they are continuing to monitor state and federal intelligence agencies.

Drivers should be aware of an increase of worshipers walking to their
houses of worship. Police advise they should use caution and slow down
to avoid an accident.

Friday is Good Friday and Sunday is Easter, celebrated by Christians,
while Friday night at sundown marks the first seder and the beginning
of the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Police remind residents that if they see something, they should say something
and call Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800 or call 911.
