Monticello couple arrested for drug possession, child endangerment

MONTICELLO – A traffic stop on Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating on Monday resulted in the arrest of a Monticello couple on a felony charge of drug possession as well as misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Troopers stopped the vehicle in which Kadina Davis, 33, and Lavar Malloy,
40, were riding after they changed lanes without signaling.  Officers
detected an odor or marijuana leading to a search that resulted in the
discovery of crack cocaine and marijuana. A two-year-old child was in
the vehicle at the time.
Davis and Malloy were charged and sent to the Sullivan County Jail. The couple was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Child Protective Services was contacted and the child was placed with a family friend.
