Connecticut man arrested after being chased into Putnam County

TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A Danbury, Connecticut man was arrested earlier this month after Putnam County deputies spotted two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed on Danbury Road.
The incident at 2:45 a.m. on March 4 led to the arrest of Alex Cardenas-Tacuri, 20, who had fled Connecticut after stealing items from several unlocked car.
The driver of the other car was a victim who was chasing Cardenas-Tacuri after he had allegedly been observed going through unlocked vehicles in the victim’s driveway in Danbury.
Cardenas-Tacuri was found in possession of stolen items from several cars as well as switchblade knife.  He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
Additional charges were expected in jurisdictions where property was stolen.
