KINGSTON – The parking kiosks installed in the City of Kingston in the latter part of last year are doing well.
In fact, Mayor Steven Noble said hundreds of permits have been sold in
the city-owned parking lots and that will translate into additional money
to the city’s benefit.
“We have sold almost 500 permits which allow people to park for a full year for a low fee,” Noble said. “We have also seen people using the kiosks for both monthly parking as well as daily and hourly parking across the city. We are really looking forward this spring to be able to work with the community to figure out where we can invest this revenue back into the business districts through a series of improvements.”
The city bonded to pay for the kiosks but expects to repay that with
the parking revenue.
