MAHOPAC – Fire department ladder trucks from throughout the region
converged on Mahopac Fire Department headquarters on Thursday evening
for Putnam County’s first Ladderfest.
Aerial ladder trucks and tower ladder rigs owned by the Brewster, Carmel, Croton Falls, Mahopac, Somers and Patterson Fire Departments were raised to the heavens as volunteer firefighting personnel from both sides of the county as well as northern Westchester discussed their preferences and became better aware of apparatus available through the county’s mutual aid plan in case of a major conflagration.
