MONTICELLO – A Maryland marijuana dealer is under arrest after
he set up shop at the Days Inn in Wurtsboro.
The man was arrested after he was stopped for a traffic violation and
told an Ulster County Sheriff’s deputy that he was on the way to
the post office to mail a package of marijuana.

Hector Morales, Jr., 42, who was stopped in the Village of Ellenville,
was taken to the Ulster Sheriff’s Wawarsing sub-station where he
was found in possession of a room key for the Days Inn on Route 209 in
Wurtsboro.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office was notified and investigation
by that agency led deputies to Morales’ room where almost one pound
of marijuana was recovered along with a food saver vacuum sealing machine.

Morales was charged with felony possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned and released on $750 bail pending a future court appearance.

He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana in Ulster
County.
