Cab driver pleads guilty to raping two women he picked up

GOSHEN – A New Windsor man pled guilty on Monday before Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown to two counts of first-degree rape for sexually assaulting two young women he had picked up as fares while he was driving a cab by bars and nightclubs on the City of Newburgh waterfront in September and November 2017.
Javier Vilchez Salazar, 34, admitted that on two separate occasions, he picked up young women at the waterfront who wanted to go home, but drove to area of New Windsor where he raped them.  He was arrested by Newburgh City Police on November 25, 2017.
Vilchez Salazar is expected to get 21 years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision when sentenced in May,
