EAST FISHKILL – A Poughkeepsie man was arrested on Thursday, March 8 on a charge that he broke a window at his ex-girlfriend’s home and attacked her.
William Ortiz, 23, allegedly assaulted the victim before being chased from the house by others inside. The woman was not injured in the 2 a.m. attack.
East Fishkill Police responded to the house on Route 376 in Fishkill Plains and located Ortiz near the Blue Fountain Restaurant.
Ortiz was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, both as felonies, as well as misdemeanors of criminal obstructing of breathing, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. He was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
