BREWSTER – NYSEG is continuing to work on restoration of electricity to its
customers in the Mid-Hudson and Catskills. The company reported that more
than 90 percent of its affected customers should be restored by this evening.
The company is bringing in additional personnel to work on the hardest
hit areas.
Putnam and Westchester officials and residents have been highly critical
of the slow speed at which the restoration is taking place.
As of last night, Dutchess County had 3,262 outages; Putnam County had
14,131 outages; Sullivan County had 6,947 customers still out; Ulster
County had 106 customers off-line; and Westchester County had 15,297 still
without power.
NYSEG is hoping to have most of the service restored before midnight
tonight.
