Firefighters at the scene on Heritage Drive

NEW CITY – Three apartments at Heritage Drive in New City were
left uninhabitable as the result of a Sunday afternoon fire.

When first responders arrived on the scene at 12:43 p.m., 17 Heritage
Drive was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was injured in the fire.

The New City Fire Department, with aid from seven other area departments,
extinguished the blaze, but not before three units were heavily damaged.

Impacted families will be staying with relatives or going to hotels due
to the state of the structure.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau and Clarkstown fire inspector are investigating,
but police said at this point, there is no reason to suspect the fire
was suspicious.
