Utility crews brought in under mutual help restore power to the region

Hydro Quebec is one of the companies brought in to aid in power
restoration

HUDSON VALLEY – Power remains out in large areas of the region
as the area’s utility companies have recruited the aid of repair
crews from across the country and Canada. Some parts of the region will
not see electricity restored for days.

NYSEG said as of 4 p.m., some 70,000 outages remain. Most of Putnam County
remains without electricity.

The company said more than 1,200 personnel responded to the storm statewide
and additional resources were brought in to assist.

As of 4 p.m., Central Hudson reported some 42,000 customers remain without
power. Service restoration will take several days. The majority of those
customers impacted in Orange County will have service restored by tonight.

In southern Dutchess and Putnam counties, restoration is expected by Monday
afternoon, and those impacted in northern Dutchess, Ulster and Greene
counties are not expected to have the lights come back on until Wednesday
afternoon.

Orange and Rockland Utilities reported that most of its customers will
be restored by midnight Sunday night.

Approximately 56,000 customers have been restored with just over 23,000
remaining without electricity Saturday evening.
