Arrest made in latest Yonkers murder

YONKERS – A 36-year-old
Montrose man was shot once in the head and killed in the latest Yonkers
homicide just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Timothy Conkling was found on the ground in the area of 342 Ashburton
Avenue suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Police have identified a suspect who is in police custody; no other suspects
are being sought.

Investigators interviewed witnesses, reviewed surveillance video and processed
forensic and ballistic evidence. Authorities determined Conkling was an
employee of a regional carting company and was working in the area when
gunshots were allegedly fired in his direction with one striking him in
the head, killing him.

The investigation is continuing.
