UPDATE-
Poughkeepsie schools will be closed for a second day tomorrow (Thursday).
POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie City School District cancelled
all classes today (Wednesday) because of a threat received.

School Superintendent Dr. Nicole Williams said schools were closed “out
of an abundance of caution.”

The school district “is aware of a recent social media post regarding
the threat of a school shooting at Poughkeepsie High School,” she
wrote on the district’s website. “Please be assured every
threat is taken seriously. Immediate action has been taken.”

She said the district is working closely with the Poughkeepsie City Police
Department and the FBI.” The authorities are “actively investigating
this issue with the highest priority,” Dr. Williams said.
