WAPPINGER – Police are investigating the discovery of a womann’s
body in Wappinger Creek off Maloney Road in Wappinger.
Investigators and firefighters were on the scene to recover the body, which was discovered in the water around 5 p.m.
State Police are in the lead in the investigation and stopped vehicles driving through the area asking motorists if they have seen anyone suspicious in the past few days.
New Hackensack Fire Department and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner removed the body from the creek shortly after 8 p.m.
