Dutchess Sheriff’s Office investigates Dover bomb threat

DOVER – Police are investigating
two bomb threats phoned in to Dover High School at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The threats were not specific as to a particular building or school, so
all Dover school buildings were evacuated and searched.

No suspicious packages or devices were located and school was resumed
at about 11 a.m.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation
by Dover School officials and the State Police. Explosives detection K-9
teams from the sheriff’s office, State Police, and City and Town
of Poughkeepsie Police participated in the search.

The investigation into the threats is continuing by the detective bureau
of the sheriff’s office.
