Rendering of a revitalized downtown

MIDDLETOWN – Now that the Downtown Revitalization Initiative is well underway with a $10 million state grant, other projects are on the horizon in the City of Middletown.
Mayor Joseph DeStefano didn’t go into details but said there may be more developments on the drawing boards.
“We are hoping something big is happening at the former Classy Leather building and the TD Bank building we have a project there close to being signed,” the mayor said.
The Classy Leather building has a new owner and the TD Bank building is owned by the city.
The first DRI project, the redevelopment of the former Woolworth building, should be completed later this year. It will include boutique shops and a walkway that will eventually become part of the Heritage Trail.
