Fugitive from New Hampshire arrested in Town of Poughkeepsie

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Town of Poughkeepsie man, who is wanted
as a fugitive from justice in New Hampshire, has been arrested and is
in the Dutchess County Jail.

At about 7 p.m. Monday, town police received information that the suspect,
Joseph Crocco, 41, of 134 Innis Avenue in Poughkeepsie, was spotted at
Mountain Brook Estates there.

Residents were evacuated from neighboring apartments and the Town of Poughkeepsie
Police Crisis Negotiating Unit unsuccessfully attempted to make phone
contact. Officers then made entry to the apartment and arrested Crocco
without incident.

He has been charged as a fugitive from just from Cheshire County, New
Hampshire.

Assisting at the scene were the Poughkeepsie City Police and the Dutchess
County Drug Task Force.
