TOWN OF FALLSBURG – Town of Fallsburg Police Officer Lawrence Danglewicz
has been suspended without pay for 30 days following his arrest in the
United Kingston.

Danglewicz, 35, a resident of Accord, was charged late last month with
using a racially abusive term aimed at a cabbie while he was on vacation.

Fallsburg Police Chief Simmie Williams told Mid-Hudson News on Tuesday
that a hearing will be held followed by a determination as to the officer’s
future on the force.

After he was charged in England, Danglewicz offered an apology to the
cab driver, who he accused of taking a long way to his destination. He
said he had been drinking, was drunk and felt embarrassed by his verbal
outburst.

The officer was fined the equivalent of a little less than US$2,800.
