Brabenec: “Meaningful property tax reform”

PORT JERVIS – Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R, Westbrookville) announced over the weekend that he will seek a third two-year term in the State Assembly.
He said his goals and priorities going forward include “meaningful property tax reform” for residents and small businesses, controlling state spending, and other issues.
“The public officers accountability act, which is the strongest ethics reform package in New York State history; we also have to protect our law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and first responders, passage of the blue lives matter bill, also advocating for our agricultural community,” he said.
Brabenec said he will continue to fight “the purveyors of the status quo and advocate for positive change so people will be able to live a quality life, raise a family, start a small business, and be successful in this great state of ours.”
Brabenec announced the formation of the “Team Orange 2018” ticket and named its initial candidates including himself, Sheriff Carl DuBois, congressional candidate James O’Donnell, Surrogate Court Judge Robert Onofry and County Court Judge Robert Freehill, who is seeking a seat on the State Supreme Court.
Prior to serving in the Assembly, he was Deerpark town supervisor.
The 98th Assembly District includes the City of Port Jervis and the towns of Deerpark, Greenville, Minisink, Warwick, Monroe, Tuxedo and portions of Ramapo.
