TOWN OF ULSTER – A Bronx man was arrested early Saturday morning on the Thruway in the Town of Ulster after the driver refused to stop when troopers tried to pull him over for an equipment violation.
The trooper stopped the chase due to safety concerns but another trooper located the vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road after it ran out of gas.
Two people were taken into custody and during further investigation, it was learned the vehicle was stolen in New York City.
The driver, Angel Figueroa, 39, of the Bronx was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanor drug possession and several vehicle and traffic violations.  He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
The other person in the car was not charged and was released.
