Southeast man arrested, over $14,000 in cash recovered

CARMEL – A Town of Southeast man has been arrested on several narcotics possession and sale charges and a warrant search resulted in the seizure of cocaine, packaging materials, a scale and over $14,000 from the home of the suspect.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office also seized two vehicles used in conjunction with the sale of drugs.
The sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit initiated the investigation after it learned that Sulaiman Sayegh, 50, allegedly was selling cocaine throughout the county and that resulted in the purchase of the drug from him on four separate occasions in Southeast.
Sayegh was arrested on Tuesday evening, January 23 when authorities located him driving on Putnam Avenue in the Town of Southeast. He as charged with four felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, five felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as misdemeanor counts of drug possession, criminally using drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child as there was a child under the age of 17 in his vehicle when police stopped it.
Sayegh was sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
