CORNWALL – A 14-year-old
student at New York Military Academy in Cornwall fell from a window in
her third-floor dormitory room on Wednesday night.

She was able to re-enter the dorm on her own power, but Cornwall Police
Chief Todd Hazard told Mid-Hudson News that she was flown by helicopter
to Westchester Medical Center as a precaution as a pediatric trauma case
since her parents were not present.

The girl and her roommate both said she was trying to force open the window
when she fell an estimated 36 feet to the ground, Hazard said.

A woman at NYMA said the school would not comment about the incident.
