ELLENVILLE – An Ellenville man has been charged with breaking into his former girlfriend’s residence in violation of an order of protection.
Ernesto Peraza, 40, was arrested 10 minutes after the 69-year-old victim reported the incident on Tuesday.
Peraza is accused of forcibly entering the woman’s apartment and pushing her bedroom door open, causing her to wake up at which point he fled. He was charged with criminal contempt and burglary, both as felonies, and released pending a future court appearance.
