Domestic dispute leads to stabbing

HIGH FALLS – A domestic dispute before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20 resulted in the arrest of a High Falls woman.
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reported Lisa Barros, 37, was charged with felonies of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana as well as a misdemeanor of criminal possession of drugs.
Investigation revealed Barros and another person were involved in an argument which became physical. During the dispute, Barros stabbed the other person with a knife, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
While investigating, over eight ounces of marijuana were found in the immediate area of the altercation in the residence.
Barros was arraigned in the Town of Marbletown Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and Kerhonkson Accord First Aid Squad.
