Everyone escapes Plattekill house fire on a messy Friday

PLATTEKILL – A three-alarm blaze Friday afternoon had firefighters from as far away as New Hampton battling flames in a house at 43 Forrest Road near Route 300 and Sommerfield Drive in the Plattekill Fire District.
All occupants escaped safely.
Departments from Ulster and Orange counties were called to the scene where fire officials said there is heavy fire throughout the building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Town of Newburgh and Ulster County Fire Investigation units.
