Despite a good effort by several companies, nothing could be saved

NEW LEBANON – An early morning fire today (Friday) leveled a barn at 316 Old Gale Hill Road in New Lebanon.
The agricultural storage barn was fully involved in flames when State Police arrived minutes after midnight. It was a total loss of the hay and equipment stored inside, they said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although police said it appears to be accidental.  Anyone traveling in the area prior to the fire or who may have information about it is asked to call State Police at 518-851-2982.
Responding to the scene were firefighters from New Lebanon, East Chatham, Canaan and Red Rock fire departments.
