COXSACKIE – An early morning traffic stop on the Thruway in Coxsackie on Tuesday, December 12 resulted in the arrests of three people.
During a search of the driver, Chiffon Scott, 34, of Schenectady, and passengers Melanie Joseph, 25, of Albany, and Sherrod Smalls, 44, of the Bronx, State Police seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana and a loaded handgun.
All three were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance – one with intent to sell, unlawful possession of marijuana as a violation, and a felony of criminal possession of a weapon – a loaded firearm. Scott was also charged with vehicle and traffic violations. All were sent to the Greene County Jail. Smalls is held without bail. Joseph and Scott are held in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond each.
