Molinaro and Serino with a blunt message

POUGHKEEPSIE – As of the beginning of November, 78 people in Dutchess
County died of drug overdoses this year and State Senator Susan Serino
and County Executive Marcus Molinaro brought leaders in the community
together to address the epidemic on Monday.
Serino said there must be an “all hands on deck” approach to the problem.
“We have had all these forums where we had the parents come and the kids and we have heard the stories and that’s why we decided that we really need to get the people that make changes, make laws, bring them all together and see what’s the next step because it’s not getting better,” she said.
Molinaro said in 2018, the county will add to its 24/7 intervention resources
as well as enhance other mental health and addiction supports.
