WALLKILL – Former Wallkill Central School District Superintendent
Dwight Aller died on Sunday, December 10. He was 83.

Prior to his serving as superintendent, he was assistant superintendent.
He entered the field of education as a math teacher then assistant principal
and initiated a middle school concept as principal. Upon his retirement
from education, he served as economic development director for the Eastern
Orange County Chamber of Commerce.
Aller was a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and later
served with the 101st Airborne.

He was an active member of Saint Patrick’s Parish participating
as a lector, member of Cursillo, and was involved in a prison ministry
in an effort to turn lives around.

He had battled many health issues over the past three years including
being a cancer survivor.

Aller was married for 60 years to his wife, Virginia, who survives him.
He is also survived by four sons, a daughter and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 15 at
Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m.
on Saturday, December 16 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Newburgh followed
by burial in Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.
