Former Accord man sentenced to prison

Ballester-Perez

KINGSTON – Former Accord resident Gilberto Ballester-Perez, 36,
was sentenced last Friday in Ulster County Court to seven years in state
prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision on his guilty
plea to the violent felony offense of course of sexual conduct against
a child.

Ballester-Perez was arrested on December 13, 2016 following an investigation
by the Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center.

When he pled guilty, he admitted that between July 1 and December 15,
2016 he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child under
the age of 11.

Ballester-Perez was prosecuted by Katherine Van Loan, bureau chief of
the Special Victim’s Bureau of the District Attorney’s Office.
He was represented by Marianne Connolly of the Ulster County Public Defender’s
Office.
