KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division
has been re-accreditation by the state Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Over the last several weeks, assessors conducted a full assessment of
the agency’s policies and practices for the criminal division to
ensure they comply with the 110 standards of performance.

Full assessments are conducted every five years with less extensive spot
checks done in between.

The Ulster Sheriff’s Office has been continuously accredited since
1989 and was the first sheriff’s office in the state to become accredited.
