SAUGERTIES – A domestic incident in the Town of Saugerties on Tuesday, December 5 turned violent when a man reportedly pushed the victim down a flight of stairs causing injury to her. The woman, who is three months pregnant, was treated at the scene by Diaz Ambulance paramedics and transported to the Broadway Campus of the Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston where she was treated and released.
Police located the alleged suspect, Umar Abdell Raheem Johnson, 26, of Poughkeepsie, on a UCAT bus in the Town of Ulster. He was charged with misdemeanors of reckless endangerment and assault, and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
An order of protection was issued by the court on behalf of the victim.
