Driver, with drugs, charged with speeding through Esopus at over 90 mph

TOWN OF ESOPUS – A Stormville man is charged with several crimes after being stopped by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies for going over 90 miles an hour on Broadway in the Town of Ulster.
Deputies said Dariush Moazami, 28, was arrested for felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of drug possession, possession of a hypodermic instrument, criminally using drug paraphernalia, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and several traffic violations.            
Moazami was stopped around 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5 and investigation located crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia in the car.  Police also determined he was driving the vehicle with a suspended license and without the owner’s consent.
He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
