FISHKILL – State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested a Poughkeepsie man on several charges on Tuesday.  Troopers were dispatched to the Extended Stay America Hotel on Merritt Blvd in the Town of Fishkill around 10:20 PM, for a report of a man wanted for a domestic violence incident that occurred in Orange County.
When police arrived, Anthony Abbott, 34, identified himself, acknowledged that he knew he was wanted for family offenses committed in Orange County, and had possession of narcotics, but would not open the door.  Access was gained to the room and Abbott was taken into custody after a brief struggle.  Abbott was found to be in possession of heroin, cocaine, and crack-cocaine paraphernalia.
Abbott is charged with Criminal Mischief, a felony, and several misdemeanors including three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration. He was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail and $20,000 bond.
