VAILS GATE – Fire and EMS personnel from across Orange County are at
the scene of an explosion and fire at the Verla International cosmetics
manufacturing company facility at 463 Temple Hill Road in New Windsor.
The Four-alarm fire is bringing out fire departments and EMS personnel
from across Orange County.
The fire has been declared a mass casualty incident with as many as 75
people being treated.
The company manufactures private label nail polish and other cosmetics.
Area residents and schools were advised to shut their windows because
of the smoke and potential of toxic fumes in the area.
