NEW CITY – Rockland County Government and its Corrections Officers Benevolent Association have reached a tentative agreement pending ratification and final approvals.
The Memorandum of understanding covers the years 2011 through 2020. The proposed terms are fair and in the best interest of the employees and the county, said County Executive Edwin Day.
“Corrections officers have some of the roughest jobs in law enforcement,” said Day, a former law enforcement official. “We thank the members of this union for the work they do and for their patience and good faith during these negotiations.”
There are approximately 145 members in then corrections officers union.
Union members, the county legislature and county executive must formally approve the document.
The county withheld details of the agreement pending ratification.
