TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A 54-year-old Danbury, Connecticut man was
killed when his car crashed into the back of a dump truck that entered
Interstate 684 north of exit 9W in the Town of Southeast on Thursday,
State Police said.
Jon Slater’s vehicle rear-ended the dump truck when the commercial
vehicle entered the roadway from the median on the northbound side of
the highway, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Slater’s vehicle then traveled into the middle lane and struck a
third vehicle.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Collision Reconstruction
Unit continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
