GOSHEN – Following an on-site assessment of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office this week, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies is going to recommend reaccreditation of the local agency.
Tamera Bulla, director of Research and Planning for the Howard County Police Department in Maryland and Lead CALEA Assessor Charles Walters met with Sheriff Carl DuBois and staff, toured all division of the sheriff’s office, visited the firearms range, the 911 center and took comments from the public, agency employees and members of Orange County Government.
CALEA’s assessment team concluded their visit on Wednesday with an exit meeting discussing their recommendations they will make to the CALEA Board to recertify the Orange County Sheriff’s Office with CALEA Accreditation.
The accreditation raises the professional standards of an agency to maintain a high level of proficiency in the organization.
